San Francisco is a 2.5-3 hour drive away, depending on whether one chooses to drive the slower but more scenic Highway 1 along the Pacific coast, or the major freeways. If you are planning to arrive in San Francisco and will require transportation to Monterey, please let us know your schedule so we can try to arrange group transportation.

Los Angeles is a 6-12 hour drive from Monterey, again depending on whether one chooses to drive the coast highway or the inland freeways. If you wish to arrive in Los Angeles and drive to Monterey, we recommend planning a leisurely two-day drive along the coast with sightseeing stops in Santa Barbara, Solvang, San Simeon and Big Sur. Solvang, Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo are ideal locations to overnight on this beautiful tour of California's South-Central Coast.
